Introducing the Mitharsuu Center for Leadership and Justice!

Dear Friend,
“This building is the living example of our belief that you don’t have to trash the planet or destroy peoples’ lives to create something beautiful and strong where we can all live together.”
- Katie Redford, Co-founder and Director
On June 24, ERI supporters and friends came together to witness the unveiling of ERI’s Mitharsuu Center for Leadership and Justice – a Platinum LEED-certified building and the new home of ERI’s Mekong office and EarthRights School!
The Mitharsuu Center—which has the highest sustainability rating level in the world—is now a reality because of the commitment of allies, old friends, and ERI staff from across the globe.
Katie Redford shares remarks during the ribbon cutting ceremony.
ERI staff and supporters released krathongs, floating flower baskets, onto the pond.
Read about the Center’s Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and learn more about this eco-friendly building and how it aids the future of our work.
People told us that an organization like ERI, comprised of lawyers, teachers, and community organizers, shouldn’t get involved in things we don’t know about, like building construction. If there’s one thing we’ve learned since the days of our Unocal litigation until now, it’s this: when we’re told by “experts” that what we want to do is impossible, we should probably do it anyway.
In solidarity and with thanks,
Katie Redford
