Climate Action: Solutions for a Changing Planet


Open until September 11th, Climate Action is our newest course on the actionable steps societies, businesses and individuals can take to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions, decarbonize the economy, and ensure a safe and prosperous climate future for all. Filmed at the 2016 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP22), Climate Action is a 12-week course that provides an overview of the policy priorities necessary to implement the Paris Climate Agreement.

The course is taught  by professors and researchers from world-renowned institutions and initiatives, such as Columbia University’s Earth Institute, the Deep Decarbonization Pathways Project, the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), and the World Business Council For Sustainable Development (WBCSD).

Sustainable Cities 

Open until September 6th, our Sustainable Cities course is a 10-week Master’s-level MOOC that explores the theory and practice of sustainable development in urban areas, and leading approaches on how we can deliver SDG 11. The course is led by Aromar Revi, the Director of the Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS), and is taught by 27 global thought leaders in the urban planning and international development fields. Call for Proposals:
EQUAL Network Seed Grants

Open until September 6th, Global TIES for Children, in collaboration with the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), is pleased to announce a call for proposals for the Center's inaugural Education Quality and Learning for All (EQUAL) Network Seeds Grants for research projects related to measurement of SDG4 indicators, as well as quality of education. EQUAL supports countries in achieving SDG 4 through the development of researcher networks, research-practice partnerships, capacity and leadership development of scholars, and provision of research seed grants for targeted research activities.

EQUAL is soliciting Letters of Intent (to be submitted via email by 5pm U.S. Eastern time, August 21, 2017), from early career scholars (within 8 years post-doctorate) as lead investigators in partnership with a mentor (senior investigator). Click here to learn more about the opportunity.
